Still loving No One Lives Forever 2, when I can fit it in between work obsessiveness. The game does have it's faults, and you'd think they'd be dealbreakers: uneven chapter pacing, heavily scripted scenarios, and infinite enemy respawns. And yet, the incredible detail (and the plethora of funny bits) outshines it all. Even more importantly, the AI is so interesting that it frequently manages to overcome the scripted scenarios, giving the whole enterprise a much more organic feel.
I'll probably finish it in the next few days; I'm only a few chapters from the end. 12:48:14 PM ()

Sorry, True Believers, this has been a hectic month. There's pretty much a direct correlation between the (in)frequency of my blogging and how obsessive I'm being about work. And we've got a big (the biggest!) deadline at the end of October. Yikes! There's something about being near the end of a project to make you wonder how you ever thought this thing would ever be suitable for showing to others. And then it all magically comes together and KICKS ASS. Software is weird.
(It's not all chaos and stress though; a little birdie told me that the fruits of my last year and half of obsessive labor made a certain boss of bosses actually shout and applaud during a recent demo. So how exciting is that?) 12:43:07 PM ()
