This is appalling and yet unsurprising. I like Dan Gillmor's take on it. The gauntlet has been thrown; your duty as a conscientous practictioner of civil disobedience is to trade books, share mp3s, and set up DVD libraries. Fuck 'em. Intellectual property protection is good -- but only for a reasonable, limited time. Nobody promised these guys the right to make money in the same forever.
