Another random note: I saw TV commercial with the guy who played J Peterman in Seinfeld once again playing the role in the commercial. This made me wonder -- how in the world did Seinfeld actually get away with that level of real life parody? So I did a little googling, and found this. The punchline: the guy who played J Peterman is now a part-owner of the company, and runs it with his real life counterpart. You can't make this shit up, folks.  11:27:07 PM  (comments []

What, you thought I could keep up that spasm of posting indefinitely? Ahahahaha.

Nothing else really to report from SIGGRAPH -- shortly after my last post, my brain turned out to be full, and then I flew home.

I will direct the RPG geeks out there to pal Kevin's new gaming-specific blog, Co-Storied. He's got some interesting thinking rattling around there about collaborative storytelling, which matches up well with the excellent GURPS sessions we've been having lately.

Babylon 5 is a lot of fun to re-watch, but now I'm debating with myself whether or not to suck it up and get season 5. It's tempting to pretend the show ends with season 4. It's also interesting to compare the relatively sunny and straightforward worldview of Babylon 5 with the extremely twisty and tasty new version of Battlestar Galactica.

The new Dr. Who rules. I just finished watching the Christopher Eccleston season. Did I mention it rules? MUST FIND MORE. BBC, please fix.

Random book series recommendation: Garth Nix's The Keys to the Kingdom series is so far fun in a fluffy Harry Potter/Narnia kind of way. Let's hear it for stuffily whimsical British young adult fantasy. I'm almost done with book 2 -- Audible doesn't have the audio version of book 3 yet. Boo.  10:50:25 PM  (comments []
