Hooray! Penny Arcade has an RSS feed. Maybe this will spur other online comics to get off their asses and do likewise. 3:01:37 PM ()

Hey, Excel Saga 5 came out while I wasn't paying attention. Too much media to absorb! Waah! I'd best get crackin'. 10:53:58 AM ()

Freelancer continues to delight and amaze. The story mission cutscenes are extremely well done; the faces on the characters convey emotion really well, and the writing is good. It feels movie-ish without evoking the WC4 Siliwood cheese machine. I think this may be the first time that anybody has bothered to render 3D characters in a space sim; most of the recent games I can think of conveyed this sort of stuff as pilot chatter while in mission. It's a nice touch.
The gameplay hasn't revealed any hidden depths yet, but it still remains fun to go exploring around the galaxy, kicking ass and taking names. The various star systems have nicely different looks, and actually interesting geography. And if nothing else, it's interesting to poke around to see if I can find a better ship or more interesting armaments, since things aren't universally available. 9:08:45 AM ()

SXSW Interactive starts today. I regret not going; I went two years ago, and enjoyed it a lot. I keep thinking "when things calm down," but they never will :) so I should just get up on it next year and go. Seeing as how I live in freakin' Austin and all. 9:01:47 AM ()
