More short reviews, this time of Sci-Fi (channel) movies.
Children of Dune. Pretty shallow, but I find it fascinating to actually see someone's visual idea of Arrakis. Too bad about the hats. Carrie has a much more detail list of complaints, but she remembers more about the original book than I do. I just didn't find the miniseries engaging. (OK, I haven't actually watched the third part yet.)
Riverworld. I read some of these books a loooong time ago, and remember finding them interesting but hard to get into. I'm almost certain that the Riverworld movie only bears a passing resemblence to the books, and yet I found it interesting and fun. So rock on. I'll probably go find the books again.
Oh, and I've starting re-reading The Wheel of Time. I hope this doesn't happen every time I play something by Legend Entertainment. I'm trying to not read it too fast this time, because I'm realizing part of Jordan's charm is in his meticulous detail. 6:47:22 PM ()
