Here, we cross the Seine, to head towards Notre Dame and St. Chapelle.
We didn't actually go into Notre Dame on this day, but it was very impressive to see from outside. I will say, though, that Notre Dame (like the Eiffel Tower) is one of the Parisian landmarks that's been part of the cultural landscape for so long that it seems especially unreal to actually see it. It's not quite as bad with Notre Dame as it is with the Eiffel Tower, but it's still there.
Needless to say, the tourist traffic around Notre Dame is exceedingly heavy, and as it was coming up on lunch time, we didn't have a lot of energy for waiting in lines.
I made an attempt at framing this shot, but that branch in the upper right covered more than I wanted it to. Also, I had no real clue about exposure at the time, so that background is kind of washed out.
I thought the spire on the top of St. Chapelle was very beautiful, and was happy that this shot of it came out as well as it did.
