Well, as I predicted, I've now seen Episode II three times.
Some thoughts:
- It turns out to wear pretty well. The action sequences continue to kick ass, and the movie moves along.
- Still, the movie doesn't manage to really get you emotionally invested. It lacks the sparkle and wit of the original trilogy.
I enjoyed Episode II quite a bit. But more as a piece of expanded background fiction for the original trilogy, than as a work that stands on the same level. 11:13:34 PM

I want one of these. And definitely one of these.
But what I really want are those clone trooper tanks, troopships, lander/walker combos, and most especially, those super-sweet atmosphere capable mini Star Destroyers. 11:10:01 PM

Last week: Star Wars Episode II & Spiderman.
This week: Ghost World & Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Culture / counter-culture explosion... LOOK OUT!
(BTW, Hedwig rocks. I put off watching it for too long because I was a little squicked by the idea of the aforementiond "angry inch." But I got over my bad self, and found it Bizarre & Hi-Larious. If you liked Priscilla or Rocky Horror, you'll like this.)
(And Ghost World was just kind of petulant and irritating. And evil. Definitely evil, and not in that "good" way.) 12:20:21 PM
