More on gay marriage: Same-Sex Couples Line Up In Sandoval County To Get Married. It's spontaneous, nationwide civil disobedience for great justice, and I'm thrilled to see it.

Someone needs to explain to me how you could be against anybody wanting to express a heartfelt, lasting commitment to their partner (or, gasp!, partners). In what way does it make sense to try to limit the amount of love in the world?

Finally, a mini-faq and episode guide for GITS:SAC. Toren points out that the reason the production quality is so excellent on the series is because it's actually released as a pay-per-view series in Japan, on a twice-monthly release schedule. Also, as the above link points out, it has the same voice cast as the movie for the major characters (ar ar, get it?).

I finished watching season 1 last night, and continued to be blown away. It covers much of the same thematic ground as the movie, but in a much more comprehensible way. It also maintains more of the whimsy of the manga (adding back in the oh-so-kawaii sentient tank Tachikomas, for example, and making Batou not quite so, y'know, DOUR).
