      Finally, a mini-faq and episode guide for GITS:SAC. Toren points out that the reason the production quality is so excellent on the series is because it's actually released as a pay-per-view series in Japan, on a twice-monthly release schedule. Also, as the above link points out, it has the same voice cast as the movie for the major characters (ar ar, get it?). 
I finished watching season 1 last night, and continued to be blown away. It covers much of the same thematic ground as the movie, but in a much more comprehensible way. It also maintains more of the whimsy of the manga (adding back in the oh-so-kawaii sentient tank Tachikomas, for example, and making Batou not quite so, y'know, DOUR). I'll also point out that a lot of care went into the facial expressions, and I'll leave it at that.  10:07:03 AM  ()
