My entire house has been placed into little bitty boxes, including all computer infrastructure except for this laptop. We move tomorrow (aided by burly men with a truck who take money and provide peace of mind -- we hope) but the cable modem won't get turned back on in the new place until Monday. Gasp! Horrors!

All phone numbers remain the same, but mobile phone is the best way to contact me this weekend. If you don't have that number, I guess I'll read your e-mail when I get back :).

I'm very much looking forward to the new place; it has an extra bedroom, so Carrie can have an office. It also has a much more sane layout and better light. But I don't enjoy having to tear down my comfortable cave to do it.

Update: Yay for Alligator Moving (512-257-7447) who gave me a quote which consisted of an hourly rate and a max value based on how long they think it will take. And who are very gamely dealing with both record highs and the occasional thunderstorm. And the general kind of chaos they found our (mostly) packed place in. Also yay for my neighbor who has an unprotected WiFi hub by the name of WLCM. I hope to return the favor in a few days.  6:51:12 PM  (comments [])
